Flare · Scams and fraud
Fraud comes from outside and inside. Outside, it might be a fake investment, an impersonated supplier or a remote-access scam. Inside, it might be altered invoices, fake suppliers or payments that don't add up.
Either way, the evidence is digital: emails, messages, transaction records, documents and device activity. Collected properly, it helps your bank, police, insurer and lawyers act.
Call your bank
If money has been sent, ask your bank to attempt a recall straight away.
Disconnect any remotely accessed computer
If a scammer had remote access, take the computer off the network and don't use it until it's been checked.
Keep everything
Save emails, texts, call logs and screenshots. Don't confront a suspected insider before evidence is preserved.
Report it
Report scams to the police via ReportCyber at cyber.gov.au. For identity misuse, IDCARE offers free support on 1300 432 273.
What Flare does
We can't guarantee recovery or identify every offender; scammers often hide behind layers of accounts. What we deliver is a clear, defensible account of what happened that gives others the best chance to act.
Having a cyber incident?
Call now. The line is answered 24/7, and early action protects evidence and money.
Sometimes the evidence points to accounts, services or people. Often it ends at overseas infrastructure. We'll tell you honestly what the evidence shows and what it doesn't.
Don't confront them yet. Speak to us and your lawyer so evidence is preserved before they know you're looking.
